Anirudh at a wedding of an eight-year-old, Bondita finds himself in a conflicting situation when the 60-year-old groom falls dead. With the crowd’s decision for her to perform Sati (a ritual of a widow's sacrifice into the Husband’s funeral pyre), Anirudh finds it impossible to let them ruin her life and with no option left marries Bondita, pledging to fight against the age-old norms. With time he helps her find her identity and unfolds a pathway for her to become a 'Barrister'.
